Network based Caller ID Programs

TiVoCID

TiVoCID is a Network Caller-ID (ncid) client package, for the TiVo.

The TiVoNCID package is another way to display text.

TiVoCID is a alias for ncid, and is included in the NCID TiVo packages. It is used on series 1 and series 2 hardware.

TiVoCID requires the OUT2OSD package.

TiVoCID obtains the Caller ID information, and then pipes it to out2osd to display the text.

If you would like to use cidcall, cidalias, and cidupdate, you need to install Perl into /var/hack/bin. You can use Perl for TiVo Series 2
If you want to use ncidsip, you need: Perl for TiVo Series 2, Net-Pcap, and libpcap

TiVoCID works with the Linux/UNIX deprecated CID, package from tummy.com,
